What is ORRO? ORRO is a plug-in fruit-fly trap designed to look like decor, not an appliance. It uses light to attract fruit flies and gnats onto a hidden adhesive cartridge; no zapping, no chemicals, no mess.
How does ORRO actually catch fruit flies? ORRO's LED array attracts flying insects toward the light. As they gather near it, they land on a transparent adhesive cartridge tucked behind the frosted disc — out of sight, with no sprays or electric grids involved.
Does ORRO use chemicals or sprays? No. ORRO works entirely through light attraction and a chemical-free adhesive cartridge — no sprays, no scent, no residue left behind.
Is ORRO loud? No. ORRO has no fan and no zapping mechanism, so it runs silently.
Where should I plug ORRO in? Anywhere fruit flies tend to gather; kitchens, near fruit bowls or trash bins, bedrooms, and living rooms. ORRO plugs into any standard US wall outlet.
Does ORRO need an app or Wi-Fi? No. ORRO is fully plug-and-play with one physical touch button — no app, account, or Wi-Fi required.
Can I use ORRO outdoors? ORRO is designed for indoor use only.
Night Mode
What is Night Mode? Night Mode is ORRO's dedicated evening setting. With one tap, ORRO switches off its blue light, dims overall brightness, and shifts to a warm glow — while attraction continues working in the background, so protection never stops.
Will Night Mode still catch bugs? Yes. Night Mode changes how ORRO looks, not what it does. Attraction LEDs stay active through the night, so ORRO keeps working around the clock — it's just easier on the eyes while you wind down.
How do I turn Night Mode on? A single tap of the touch button starts an 8-hour Night Mode cycle. ORRO automatically returns to full daytime brightness afterward, so you only have to set it once.
Cartridges & Maintenance
How often do I need to replace the cartridge? Every ORRO comes with 6 adhesive cartridges included. Replacement frequency depends on your household's fruit-fly activity. As a general guide, replace the cartridge once it visibly starts filling up.
How do I replace the cartridge? Flip open ORRO's front disc, slide out the used cartridge using the no-glue pull tab (no contact with the adhesive or trapped insects), and slide in a fresh one.
Where do I buy refill cartridges? Refill 3-packs are available on our Shopify store and Amazon listing for $9.99.
Safety
Is ORRO safe around kids and pets? ORRO uses light and a contact adhesive cartridge; no chemicals, sprays, or exposed electrical grids. As with any small appliance, we recommend placing it out of a curious pet's or toddler's direct reach.
Is ORRO electrically safe / certified? ORRO is designed and manufactured to meet US electrical safety standards.
Will the UV light bother my eyes? ORRO's LEDs are directed toward attracting insects near the cartridge, not outward at the room. If you have specific light sensitivity, we recommend placing ORRO at a distance from where you sit or sleep. Night Mode also reduces visible brightness for a more comfortable evening environment.

How ORRO Compares
How is ORRO different from Zevo? Zevo and most plug-in traps are built and styled as functional pest-control appliances; visible white plastic, a single static light setting, no consideration for how they look in a room. ORRO is designed first as a home object: a frosted, softly-lit disc with a dedicated night mode, built to sit comfortably in the rooms you actually spend time in. Additionally, Zevo and most plug-in traps retain bright blue lighting into the night, which can make winding down for bed and sleeping difficult.
How is ORRO different from fan-based traps like Katchy or DynaTrap? Most competing traps use a fan to pull insects in, which adds noise and a bulkier, more visibly "device-like" housing.
